Cross Grain Wood Pellets & Plugs

Cross grain wood pellets are timber pellets that are tapered in shape and are used in many forms of joinery, primarily to hide screws or bolt heads and to help finish off the joined timber to a smooth un-interputted surface, thus concealing the joint.

Cross grain wood pellets can also be referred to as cross grain plugs, or even tapered pellets.

The cross grain pellet are inserted into the hole where the screw is located, leaving a small amount reamaing above the surface. Using a flush cut saw, the pellet is then trimmed and sanded, blending into the surface for a smooth all timber finish. As these are timber products, they can then be finished in exactly the same manner as the rest of the wood, allowing it to blend in.

We have a great range of cross grain pellets, available in Pine, Oak, Ash, Hemlock, Dark Hardwood and Walnut. All available as single pieces, or the more cost effective larger multiple packs.
