FAQs

Does this spindle come finished or unfinished?

The Oak Stop Chamfered Spindle comes unfinished. This means you can choose to finish your spindle in your choice of wax, varnish, oil or paint. At Jackson Woodturners, we always recommend Treatex Clear Hardwax Oil for a long-lasting and attractive finish.

Can I purchase matching oak stair parts like handrails and newel posts?

Yes, at Jackson Woodturners, we offer a wide range of stunning oak stair parts to help you complete your staircase transformation and match perfectly with your Oak Stop Chamfered Spindles. Our oak range includes handrails, base rails and newel posts.

What does stop chamfered mean?

Stop chamfered means that the edges of the spindle are bevelled (chamfered), creating a smooth, angled finish. However, the bevelling is restricted to the middle section of the spindle, so the top and bottom blocks are square and flat. This creates a decorative contrast, and although the design is subtle, it’s enough to add an element of visual interest to any staircase.
