• Newel base connectors - Designed from brushed nickel and chrome, our newel base connectors offer a unique, modern look to improve the appearance of your staircase.
• Metal handrail connectors - Designed to be used on flat surfaces, our metal handrail connectors are made using brushed nickel and chrome.
Choosing between the different types of metal stair parts can be quite challenging if you are not familiar with the materials’ qualities. Below, we’ll outline the main benefits of each type so that you can make an informed decision:

Chrome
• Ideal for modern and contemporary staircases.
• Chrome provides an attractive reflective finish.
Offers a sleek and refined look.

Brass
• Brass goes particularly well with brighter shades of wood.
• Creates a luxurious, traditional look.

Black Coated Metal

• As a neutral tone, black coated metal works well with a large variety of woods.
• Black adds immediate sophistication and class to a staircase.
• Black coated metal appears sleek and modern.
If you are searching for something affordable which looks great, is safe for all the family and requires very little in terms of maintenance, metal spindles are an excellent option. Here are some of the main reasons why modern metal stair spindles are so popular:

• Versatile - If you are hoping to create a focal point in your home packed full of character and quirkiness, metal staircase spindles are a perfect take on a rustic and traditional feature. They can even be mixed with glass or timber to create that real wow factor.

• Built to last - Unlike other stair parts, metal stair spindles are not vulnerable to changes in the environment. They won’t bend or warp like other staircase spindles. Metal is tough, durable and lasts for years, which makes it a great long-term investment.

• Easy to install - Our metal stair spindles are easy to install. All you need to do is slot the spindles into the pre-grooved handrail and base rail. Alternatively you can choose from a variety of rake fitting brackets if there are no pre-drilled holes.

• Low maintenance - Metal will always win over other metals when it comes to maintenance and upkeep. This is because if your metal stair spindles are painted correctly, they will not rust or fade.

Owner of Lousia De Paola Interiors says,
“A metal staircase can be very versatile. For instance, you can achieve an industrial look by incorporating structural steel balustrading with concrete steps. Bespoke wrought-iron spindles are a real statement and range in styles, so for a contemporary space I’d specify a simple hairpin design in a matt-black finish. For a classic contemporary home, my favourite would be a sleek art deco design in an antique brass finish."

Whilst all of our metal stair parts are extremely durable, it is important that you take the time to properly care for your metallic stair parts to keep them looking beautiful. Here are some of our top tips for maintaining your metal stair parts:

• Routine cleaning - Routine cleaning is quick and easy and will help to sustain the shine and cleanliness of your stairs as well as removing any stains or fingerprints. In our option, the best method for cleaning your metal stair parts is using a soap or mild detergent in warm water – we’d recommend around a 1 to 4 ratio of cleaner to water. It’s best to use a soft cloth or sponge, and gently wipe the metal stair parts.
• Regular dusting - As well as regular cleaning, you should dust your metal stair parts regularly. You can do this with either a microfibre cloth or feather duster.
• Giving your metal a lick of paint - Over time, you may feel that your metal stair parts are ready for a new coat of paint. Like other frequently used parts of your household, they may require a bit more prep work because they get so much traction. So, before you paint, you'll want to remove any existing paint that may be bubbling or flaking, and then thoroughly clean your stairs.
