Oak Stair Parts

Known for its resistance to wear and tear, white oak is a strong hardwood grown in the eastern half of the United States. It is a straight grained medium to coarse hardwood with a pale brown appearance. The oak itself is kiln dried to 10%, making it suitable for internal joinery projects as well as allowing it to stain and polish well.

As most of our oak stair parts come un-finished at Jackson Woodturners, we recommend using a suitable timber paint, varnish or wax. This will enhance the natural colours of the wood and offer a layer of protection for years to come. Discover our massive range of white oak stair parts, including:

• Oak stair spindles
• Oak newel posts
• Oak newel bases
• Oak stair handrails
• Oak base rails
• Oak caps

Oak is an extremely popular choice for stairs parts as it provides a classic and natural look. As a hardwood, it also takes stains and polishes very well, making it both a sturdy and durable option.
