This simple yet elegant squared taper spindle is part of the White Primed range of modern and traditional stair parts available here at Jackson Woodturners. Smoothly transitioning from 41mm blocks at the top and bottom, the middle section sits across the central 440mm and thins down to 30mm.
The top and bottom blocks are each 230mm long and will sit in any of our hand or base rails with 41mm grooves. Primed on a hardwood base such as tulip wood or poplar, this spindle will arrive ready for a top coat of paint for your own personal touch.
Please note: The colour of our white primed products may vary between parts. If you’d like to add paint to ensure a consistent shade, we advise using a solvent-based topcoat.

These spindles feature a very simple design that maintains a classic look while adding a point of visual interest. Beginning as a standard 41mm square, the spindle then tapers down to 30mm after 230mm. This continues for 440mm, with the final 230mm of the spindle smoothly transitioning back to 41mm.
Do I need to paint my White Primed Square Tapered Spindles?
No! This product will arrive with you already primed, so they’ll already have a classic white look to them. This colour only comes from a primer, however, so the shade can differ between parts and batches.
If you want to guarantee a uniform colour across all of your white primed stair parts, or if you’d like to add a bright splash of colour, these spindles are ready to paint. Whilst some customers do choose to leave them unpainted, we do recommend using a solvent-based topcoat, no matter what, to protect your parts from wear and tear.
